Rowan holds the role of General Manager Development sharing responsibility for shaping mecu’s response to sustainable development, whilst aligning mecu's approach to banking with the expectations of its socially progressive shareholding members located throughout Australia.

mecu’s corporate communications, community relations, business development and marketing tasks all fall into Rowan’s area of responsibility.

In 2006 Rowan was appointed as a member of the Al Gore Australian Climate Change Project.
