Avoiding negatives and selecting positives
Australian Ethical has a unique two-prong approach to responsible investing. Like most responsible investment managers, we avoid investments involved in harmful activities, such as those that pollute or destroy the environment and those that exploit people. But Australian Ethical goes further - we actively search for investments that are good for society and the environment, in areas such as

- organic foods.
Some investment options branded 'sustainable' or 'socially responsible' may ironically invest in industries such as gambling, tobacco and uranium mining. Not Australian Ethical. We have a charter that ensures we stick to our negative avoidance and positive selection approach. We openly identify and discuss the companies we invest in so that people know exactly where their money is going.
