Sizzling Solar Systems is a Brisbane based solar cooker consultancy run by Stan and Jane Cajdler. The primary aim is to build community awareness of the potential of solar energy and how it can be used in a domestic kitchen for cooking purposes. Knowledge and experience gained from researching, building and using many varieties of cookers has made Stan and Jane’s skills highly sought after and they have been actively giving advice and demonstrations at, schools, community gatherings and fairs.

Many varieties of cookers will be on show and weather permitting will be cooking up a storm.

Solar users and interested parties have formed a ‘Supporters Group’ which conducts periodic meetings and workshops.

Solar cooking is a simple, clean, cheap and non polluting way to cook food using only the suns renewable energy as fuel.

Cakes, lentils, casseroles, meats, vegetables etc. Almost anything you can bake, stem, roast or simmer can be cooked in a relatively simple solar cooker.

Depending on weather conditions a solar cooker can achieve the same temperatures as a conventional oven or cook top. With some designs temperatures can approach 1000º C

Even a child can make a basic functioning cooker. A handy man or woman should be able to produce a masterpiece and use it to prepare a gourmet banquet. A consultant will be available to answer all your questions and display working models. The theory behind this basic technology seems simple, however if certain crucial procedures are not followed disappointing performances can be expected.
