Hats off to Mother Nature

She knows how to dish it out when she wants - Respect. Imagine the scene if you can, nine days out from the Festival, (did we say one that would have rocked your socks? A whole year's worth of work) standing in the most beautiful Festival site in Australia. It hasn't stopped raining for a month. Highest rainfall ever recorded in fact. Ground conditions that make Glastonbury look like the Simpson Desert in high summer. The crew struggling valiantly against ever dwindling odds, finally the realisation that we had passed the point where we could confidently invite you safely into our beautiful Festival.

Then the decision to cancel, one made for your safety and the preservation of this beautiful valley the Festival calls home, but one of the hardest decisions you could imagine.

Eight months later and we have been working tirelessly to make sure Mother Nature won't get the better of us again. The owners of Glenworth Valley are implementing a massive upgrade which will ensure the event will be able to withstand heavy weather conditions.

So what can you expect this year?

For those of you that have never been, we will be bringing you bands you know and love, playing alongside bands that we love and that you may not yet know about.

On the arts and theatre side there will be two dedicated venues, one for theatre and cabaret, the other dedicated to new media, projection and soundscape.

As well as this, you can enjoy one of the best children's festivals in Australia, idyllic swimming holes, the Boardi Space for local and international indigenous culture, the Ecoliving Village providing advice and products to help you live your life more sustainably, our healing area, markets, rainforest bush walks, kayaking, horse riding, camping with friends and family in a beautiful riverside setting and most of all, a really chilled way to welcome this next new year.

This year we have decided to limit the growth of the Festival. We believe that what we do is special and stands alone and we have listened to feedback from you - the people that make the Festival exist. This year we will be limiting the number of people we let into the valley. This will be a Festival delivered on quality, not an event that looks only to sell tickets on the popularity of the latest musical fad.
