Brisbane's fresh purveyors of indie-folk-pop with a tough of fragility. Enamoured with a good dose of encouragement from their pals, and with the help of a triangle, Casio beat and a tambourine, the band took to the bright lights of the stage in May 2008.

Their debut EP “The Dead Loss EP” was independently released in August 2008, with tracks receiving regular radio airplay on Triple J, 4zzz, RTR and FBi, and led to Little Scout being announced as Triple J’s unearthed feature artist of the week. Soon after “The Dead Loss EP” was completed the band was named state finalists in the MTV Kickstart competition.

Little Scout is influenced by the likes of Sufjan Stevens, Camera Obscura, Iron & Wine and Feist. They also  try their best to smell nice and wear fancy shoes while performing.

WHAT THE CRITICS SAY:

“Gorgeous vocals - i found the construction of this song (Dead Loss) flawless and very pretty. Bring it on - was very easy to listen to and sounded great on the radio (4/5)” - Rosie Beaton, Triple J

“I really like a lot of things about this song (Dead Loss). It starts modestly, but the Melissa’s voice hooks you in. It kinda builds, then drifts away, then builds again. But never crashes in which you kind of expect. Unpredictable is a good word for this song. (4/5)” - Richard Kingsmill, Triple J

“Is that a Casio beat? And some Triangle? call and responses?! Wow! Lovely vibe to this song, and excellent lyrics. (4/5)” - MTV Kickstart
