The Rocketsmiths

Appearance Time:

Performance Time - Saturday 6th June @ 2pm

Playing a style of music that has been dubbed everything from “Carnie Rock” to “Vaudevillian Indie Rock Popabilly”, Rocketsmiths sound (and play) like no other band in the Australian music scene.

Their  new EP “Parts, Pieces” (MGM) produced and recorded by ARIA award-winning producer Magoo (Regurgitator, Operator Please, End Of Fashion) has received critical praise and JJJ rotation for first single “The Boy Who Cried Misery”.  Their energetic, tight live show has fans unable to contain their excitement and has seen the band sell out The Zoo and booked for major supports and festival appearances.

“. . . their rock tunes into a different stratosphere from every other four-chord ensemble.” - Clem Bastow – Beat Magazine

“Rocketsmiths play rabble-rousing country punk at a break-neck speed. They careen through songs with a joyful kind of chaos, invoking outlaw twang through lo-fi garage rock with impulsive little spasms littering their madcap landscape. Think Dropkick Murphys by way of B52s and the Living End. Good times, rock and roll, etc.”  - Simone Ubaldi – Inpress Magazine

“Fun, distorted vocals and pure pop… This is a tops song and one you want to sing along to.” - Zan Rowe - Triple J

“These boys looked like they were about to explode from the amount of fun they were having onstage, and each song just got louder and faster and crazier. They stole the show for the night… The songs were all catchy and captivating and all these wonderful things that make it impossible to tear your eyes away for a second..” -  Fasterlouder.com.au
