It’s in the way we roast our single origins and prepare our espresso drinks; it’s the quality equipment we use, the premium beans that we select and the attitude to the work. When you bring this all together, what you get is stand-out, memorable coffee. From an ethical business perspective we’re committed to ONLY roasting FAIR TRADE coffees.
And our focus isn’t just on the global, it’s local as well. We actively include local people from disadvantaged backgrounds in our enterprise. Already we’re employing several people, and as we grow, so too will the opportunities.
Lastly, all of BLACKSTARS green beans are purchased through the Australian Certified ORGANIC label, a system that works in harmony with nature, keeping harmful chemicals out of the land. We’re also into sustainable packaging and are looking at takeway cups and what we can do to reduce, re-use, recycle.
WHERE TO FIND US AT GREENFEST - we will have a BLACKSTAR COFFEE KIOSK at the Climate Conscious Zone. Here you can get your hands on espresso drinks, hot chocolate, tea and some simple food and sweets. Also, we will be serving our unique iced coffee drinks – we call them COLD PRESSED COFFEE – using mobile carts roving around the festival to bring the flavour to you.
