"The voice of Australian certified organic" - Representing certified organic food and farmers in Australia"
Who are BFA?
Biological Farmers of Australia (BFA) is a not-for-profit
organisation which exists to represent certified
organic and biodynamic farmers and operators in
Australia. As part of this role, BFA
educates the wider public on what organic means and the many benefits of ‘going
organic’. BFA proudly supports an increasing number of organic farmers and businesses
in Australia who are focused on providing food that is produced in an
environmentally responsible and sustainable manner.
The BFA provides many resources for the organic community including two popular
magazines The Australian Certified Organic Magazine and the Australian
Organic Producer magazine.
Who are ACO?
Australian Certified Organic (ACO) is Australia's premier certifier of organic produce. Products which display the "Organic Bud" comply with the internationally recognised Australian Organic Standard (AOS) and are audited each year by a third party. Look for the ACO "Organic Bud" logo when buying organic products for your guarantee of organic integrity. Shoppers can also look for the 'Organic Growers of Australia' (OGA) sunflower symbol
which is the certification mark of small producers, often found at local markets.
