| Rogerthat are::
Jesse Bailey - vocals Rogerthat are a band that could have come from just about any era. Their contemporaries could be the Black Crowes or the Black Keys. Anything from the Woodstock era, Marley and Lee Scratch Perry or the steel blues of Muddy Waters (circa Electric Mud)... if you could mash the raw electric, psychedelic rock-reggae rep’s of those, you’d get close to the quartet. The band have been melding their influences together at their own pace – since drummer Dan Briffa joined - for a year now and connecting with people thru their live show along the way . In that time they have toured and toured, racking up the miles. Rogerthat gigged with a stack well respected bands: Alabama 3 (UK), The Herd, The Beautiful Girls, Bob Evans, Spiderbait, Butterfingers and The Custom Kings.
In '007 they also did a successful double header tour with The Black Market Rhythm Co. Added to this were profiles in a stack of mags, including Drum, Inpress, Time Off and Tsunami. They also headlined the Gold Coast’s Wonderland Festival ('006), played the QuiksilverPro show to a crowd of 2,500 and featured at Newcastle’s High Voltage festival this year ('007). Releases ::
Chasing The Sun was released late in '006 (in store through Green Media) and picked up play on Triple J and community stations (FBI in Sydney and RRR and PBS in Melbourne) around the country.
The Vanilla Gorillas was recorded up and down the East coast of Australia – from Mackay on the far North coast to the Gold coast - as the band literally chased the sun trying to get a recording that would get across their live sound. This one does it. Once again tracks have been taken up by community radio and (national) Triple J alike. Rogerthat have signed a deal for The Vanilla Gorillas to be released in Europe thru Crownn_Records in mid March '008. More::
