Kate began performing in Paris while working as an English teacher at the Sorbonne in 2001. Kate's former band Rodeo Dodo won the BluFM89.1 Singer/Songwriter competition in 2004. She co-composed the musical Catalist and has released an EP, 3 Songs, followed in 2007 by her CD The Simplest of Things, a mélange of lyrical ballads and whimsical observations. She has performed regularly in the Blue Mountains and Sydney area, appearing at the Blue Mountains Folk, Blues and Roots festival in 2005 and 2007. After returning to Australia, Kate studied guitar and fingerpicking with Blue Mountains folk/blues guitarist and teacher Nigel Foote. Apart from performing Kate has been variously employed as a book illustrator, cartoonist, high-school French teacher, children's party fairy, piano teacher, radio presenter and a saleswoman in a kitchenware shop.
