Countdown to Copenhagen
Over a decade ago most countries joined the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), to begin to consider what can be done to reduce global warming. Click here for an educational resource on Gobal Warming.
More recently, a number of nations approved an addition to the treaty: the Kyoto Protocol, which has more powerful (and legally binding) measures. Click here for an educational resource on the Kyoto Protocal.
In December 2009 the UN climate change negotiations in Copenhagen will bring to a conclusion the work from Bali and Poznan to establish commitments to climate change action and policy.
On World Environment Day around the world people will be showing their support for strong commitments in Copenhagen. Join thousands of others in showing your support the Greenfest free concert for climate change on World Environment Day, commencing 12:00 midday to 10:30pm on Friday 5th June.
