Greenfest is proud to celebrate Queensland Day in unique style with a free concert and program of activities that cater to all ages and support our hopes for the next 150 years. Greenfest is Australia’s largest free green festival and aims to help accelerate change towards a cooler planet by bringing people together in a creative environment filled with fresh energy! The program for you to enjoy a Green Queensland Day at Greenfest include:
- Green Queensland Day Concert: Come and celebrate Queensland’s 150th birthday with our hottest emerging music talent. There will be music to suit different moods and tastes on three stages through the Botanic Gardens, so come and dance and or relax with friends and family at the Green Queensland Day Concert! The initial line-up is: Ash Grunwald, Jeff Lang, Tame Impala, The Boat People, Botanics, Kevin Borich, Laneous & the family, Golden Sound, Tim Loydell & the Deckchairs, Little Scout, 8 Ball Aitken, Trouble Karma Flow, Hungry Kids of Hungary, The Rocketsmiths, The Reversals, Banawurun, Pear & the Awkward Orchestra, The Wells, Mason Rack Band, Jason Lowe, Ange Takats, Georgia Potter, Bunna Lawrie, Mark Easton, Jimmy Watts, Rachael Brady, Kim Churchill, Autumn Sun, Tom Richardson, The Stains.
- Heart of Gold International Film Festival: The Heart of Gold International Film Festival is one of Australia’s leading regional film festivals based in Gympie. This year Heart of Gold will provide a free screening under the stars at Greenfest on Queensland Day of G and PG rated short films for you to bring a blanket and enjoy.
- Healthy Life Healthy Planet & Kids Zone: Join in the common sense ideas at Healthy Life Healthy Planet that show you how healthy choices for yourself result in a healthy planet too. This area includes local Queensland organic framers, nutrition experts and fun fitness activities for all ages. There is also a Kids Zone with drumming workshops, interactive art, dance and more.
- Workshops for a cooler future! Come have your say and interact with others in workshops featuring leading speakers on themes such as environmental education, nutrition, future design, change capable leadership and more. There are also lots of practical and fun workshops that get you up close to organic food, fashion and more.
With over 200 exhibitors, 60 bands, 50 speakers, film, comedy and more catering to all ages, come and enjoy a Green Queensland Day at Greenfest. The celebrations are free to all areas and performances.
